As summer comes to a close, families begin preparing for a new school year. Store shelves fill with backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and lunchboxes, and communities come together to help ensure children have the supplies they need to succeed.
School supplies are important.
But there is something just as valuable that can’t be purchased in a store.
Confidence.
A child who believes in themselves, feels encouraged, and knows they have people cheering them on begins the school year with something powerful—a belief that they can succeed.
At God Starr, we believe that confidence, encouragement, and positive experiences are every bit as important as backpacks and notebooks. That’s why our mission goes beyond providing fun events. We create opportunities that help local youth discover their strengths, build friendships, and believe in their future.
Confidence Is One of the Greatest Gifts We Can Give
Every child faces challenges.
Some are excited for the first day of school.
Others feel nervous, uncertain, or worried about fitting in.
Many children carry burdens that others may never see.
Sometimes all it takes is one positive experience or one caring adult to remind a child that they matter.
Confidence grows when children are encouraged to try new things, celebrate small victories, and discover what they’re capable of.
That’s exactly what we strive to create through every God Starr adventure.
A Summer Filled with Memories and Growth
This summer has been filled with unforgettable experiences for the youth we serve.
Together we’ve:
🌻 Explored the beautiful flower fields at Heirloom Farms.
🕶️ Experienced exciting new worlds through our Virtual Reality Adventure.
🎨 Expressed creativity through hands-on art and ceramics.
🛼 Laughed together during our Roller Skating events.
🥏 Expanded opportunities for boys through our new Frisbee Golf program.
⛺ Helped send youth to summer camp where they could build friendships, develop independence, and create lifelong memories.
While these adventures were filled with fun, they also gave children opportunities to build confidence, practice teamwork, overcome fears, and experience the joy of trying something new.
Those lessons don’t end when summer does.
They become part of the foundation children carry into the classroom.
More Than Activities—We’re Building Futures
Every God Starr event is designed with a purpose.
When children feel supported, they become more willing to participate.
When they participate, they gain confidence.
When confidence grows, new possibilities begin to open.

Supporting the Whole Child
At God Starr, we know that helping youth means caring for more than just their recreational needs.
Through our partnership with a local after-school program, we also provide healthy snacks and food support for children in our community.
For some youth, these meals are an important source of nourishment.
When children have nutritious food, positive mentors, and opportunities to simply enjoy being kids, they’re better equipped to focus, learn, and thrive.
Supporting the whole child helps create a stronger foundation for success both inside and outside the classroom.
