At God Starr, our mission is simple but powerful: to create happy memories and positive experiences that help improve the lives of children in our local community.
For many of the kids we serve, opportunities like outings, camps, or special events are not always accessible. Through the support of our donors, we are able to change that—one experience at a time.
Creating Experiences That Matter
God Starr primarily partners with a local after-school program, where we work closely with youth who benefit most from additional support and encouragement. With every donation we receive, we are able to provide meaningful experiences that allow kids to simply be kids—whether that’s attending a fun event, trying something new, or building confidence through shared adventures.
These moments may seem small, but they create lasting memories and help shape how a child sees themselves and their future.
Growing Our Impact
This year marks an exciting new chapter for God Starr.
We are expanding our programs to include boys, supported by a strong group of youth leaders who are passionate about creating positive, engaging activities. This growth allows us to reach even more children and continue building a community rooted in encouragement, mentorship, and fun.
We have also been able to secure sponsorships to send some of our kids to summer camp—an experience that can be truly life-changing.
Looking ahead, we are dreaming even bigger. One of our goals over the next couple of years is to organize a trip to Disneyland for the kids we serve. For many of them, this would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. With continued support, this dream can become a reality.
Supporting More Than Just Fun
While experiences and adventures are a big part of what we do, our mission goes deeper.
We also help provide food for after-school snacks, ensuring that kids have something to eat during their time in the program. For some children, this may be one of their only consistent meals of the day.
During times of increased hardship—such as last year’s government shutdown—we redirected our efforts to support families directly by purchasing groceries. We believe that showing up for our community in practical ways is just as important as creating joyful experiences.
Why It Matters
At its core, God Starr exists to relieve some of the stress these children face every day.
When a child feels supported, cared for, and included, it allows them to focus on being a child—on laughing, learning, and believing in what their future can hold.
That is the true impact of this work.
