redibly important.
But children also need something that can sometimes be overlooked:
Joy.
They need opportunities to laugh, play, explore, create, make friends, and simply enjoy being a kid.
At God Starr Ministries, we believe positive experiences are an important part of growing up. That’s why we create adventures and activities for local youth who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in them.
From flower picking and creative art experiences to roller skating, summer camp, virtual reality, and our new boys’ Frisbee Golf program, our goal is to create moments that bring joy, connection, and possibility into the lives of children in our community.
Kids Deserve to Have Fun
Childhood shouldn’t be only about responsibilities, school, and overcoming challenges.
Kids deserve to have fun.
They deserve to look forward to something.
They deserve to experience something new and say, “That was awesome!”
For some children, opportunities that may seem ordinary to us—going roller skating, visiting a farm, attending summer camp, or trying a new activity—simply aren’t part of their everyday lives.
Cost, transportation, family circumstances, and other challenges can make extracurricular activities and special experiences difficult to access.
That’s where community support can make a difference.
God Starr works to create opportunities where local youth can experience things they may not otherwise get to experience.
And sometimes, one special day can become a memory that lasts for years.
The Power of Positive Experiences
A positive experience isn’t just about having fun in the moment.
When children are given opportunities to explore and participate, they can discover new interests, meet new people, and learn more about themselves.
A child might discover that they love art.
Another might find that they enjoy being outdoors.
Another might discover a new sport.
Someone else might simply realize that they love trying new things.
We don’t always know what will spark a child’s interest or imagination.
That’s why we believe it’s important to give them the opportunity to find out.
Play Helps Kids Connect
Play is also one of the ways children build relationships.
Whether they’re working together on a creative project, learning a new sport, laughing with friends, or exploring somewhere new, kids naturally connect through shared experiences.
Those connections matter.
Friendships can help children feel included and give them a sense of belonging.
At God Starr, we want our events to be places where kids can meet new people, feel comfortable being themselves, and enjoy being part of something positive.
Creating Adventures for Boys and Girls
God Starr began with a focus on creating meaningful experiences for girls in our community.
We’re excited that our vision is now expanding.
With the help of dedicated youth leaders, we’re developing new opportunities for boys as well.
Our new Frisbee Golf program is one of the first steps.
Through sponsorship and volunteer leadership, we’re able to introduce boys to a new activity while creating opportunities for friendship, teamwork, outdoor recreation, and mentorship.
It’s more than learning how to throw a disc.
It’s about giving kids a place to belong and an opportunity to try something new.
We’re excited to see where this program takes us.
Joy and Nourishment Go Hand in Hand
Creating joy is only one part of how God Starr supports local youth.
We also believe that children can’t fully enjoy an adventure when they’re hungry.
Through our partnership with a local after-school program, we provide snacks and food support for children in our community.
For some of these kids, the food they receive through the program may be their only meal or one of their most reliable sources of food that day.
That is why this part of our mission is so important to us.
We want kids to be happy and well-fed.
We want them to have the energy to participate, laugh, learn, and enjoy being kids.
During times when families are facing additional financial challenges, we’ve also directed donations toward helping families with groceries.
Supporting children means caring about the whole child—not just what happens during an event.
Sometimes a Memory Is More Important Than We Realize
Think back to your own childhood.
You may not remember every school assignment or every ordinary Tuesday.
But you probably remember some of the experiences.
The family trip.
The summer camp.
The birthday party.
The day you learned something new.
The afternoon you spent laughing with friends.
Those memories become part of our stories.
God Starr wants to help create some of those memories for children who may not otherwise have those opportunities.
A flower-picking adventure might seem like just a few hours.
A ceramics class might seem like an afternoon of painting.
A Frisbee Golf outing might seem like learning a new sport.
But to a child, it can be something much bigger:
An adventure.
A new experience.
A happy memory.
And sometimes, something to look forward to when life feels difficult.
It Takes a Community to Create Joy
None of these experiences happen without people who believe in our mission.
Our donors make adventures possible.
Our sponsors help provide activities and opportunities.
Our volunteers give their time and energy.
Our youth leaders create connections and encouragement.
And our community helps spread the word.
Every contribution, large or small, helps God Starr continue creating opportunities for local youth.

Every Child Deserves Joy
At God Starr, we believe childhood should include more than simply getting through the day.
It should include moments of laughter.
Moments of discovery.
Moments of friendship.
Moments of creativity.
Moments of adventure.
And moments when a child can forget about their worries for a little while and simply be a kid.
That’s what we’re working to create throughout the Sacramento and Placer County communities.
We may not be able to change every circumstance a child faces.
But we can create a joyful afternoon.
We can provide a meal.
We can introduce them to a mentor.
We can give them the chance to try something new.
We can help create a memory.
And together, those moments can make a difference.
Because every child deserves the opportunity to experience joy.
