Through mentorship, joyful experiences, and the support of our local community, we help youth throughout Sacramento, Roseville, Citrus Heights, Loomis, and Placer County discover confidence, build meaningful friendships, and realize they are capable of achieving great things.

Why Mentorship Matters
Children are constantly discovering who they are.
As they grow, they look to the adults around them for encouragement, guidance, and reassurance. A caring mentor doesn’t have to have all the answers—they simply need to show up, listen, encourage, and remind a young person that they matter.
Whether it’s a volunteer helping at an event, a youth leader leading an activity, or a community member cheering them on, those positive interactions leave a lasting impression.
At God Starr, mentorship happens naturally through shared experiences.
Whether we’re painting ceramics, playing Frisbee Golf, roller skating, exploring nature, or attending summer camp, our volunteers and youth leaders create safe spaces where kids feel welcomed, encouraged, and valued.

Volunteers Make the Difference
Behind every God Starr adventure is a team of caring people who simply want to make a difference.
Our volunteers help create an environment where children feel safe, encouraged, and excited to participate.
Whether they’re helping with a craft, leading an outdoor activity, organizing supplies, or simply spending time talking with a child, they become part of that child’s story.

Growing to Serve More Youth
This year marks an exciting new chapter for God Starr.
In addition to our girls’ programs, we’re expanding to serve boys through new activities like our Frisbee Golf program, supported by dedicated youth leaders and generous community sponsors.
We’re also continuing to provide:
- Summer camp sponsorships
- Creative art experiences
- Outdoor adventures
- Roller skating and recreational activities
- Healthy snacks and food support through our partnership with a local after-school program
Our vision continues to grow because our community continues to believe in investing in local youth.
