What God Starr Is All About—and Why These Values Matter So Much
At God Starr, we don’t just have a cute name (though we do love it ) we have a BIG mission. Our name carries a lot of meaning, and we want to share the heart behind what STARR really stands for.
These five values are the guiding light of everything we do with our girls from our mentorship programs to paint-splatter adventures and heartfelt talks about life. This is how we help them grow into confident, curious, and joyful young women.
So what does STARR mean? Let’s break it down and show how each one comes to life in the God Starr world:
S is for Strength
Helping girls discover the power they already have inside.
At God Starr, we believe every girl is strong—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. We help girls build inner strength through confidence-building activities, open conversations, and real-life challenges where they get to say, “I did that!”
Strength looks like:
- Speaking up for yourself
- Trying something new, even if it’s scary
- Holding your head high after a rough day
- Believing you’re worthy of love and joy
T is for Trust
Building relationships that feel safe, honest, and real.
Trust is the foundation of everything we do. Girls learn that they can trust their mentors, each other, and most importantly themselves. We create a judgment-free space where they can be vulnerable, ask questions, and feel heard.
Trust shows up as:
- Telling the truth and knowing it’s okay
- Knowing you’re safe to be yourself
- Relying on others and letting them rely on you
A is for Adventure
Because growing up should be fun, exciting, and full of discovery!
From paintball and parks to art workshops and nature walks, we bring in plenty of adventure. These experiences help girls explore the world around them and stretch their comfort zones. Life is an adventure and we’re here to live it!
Adventure means:
- Being open to new experiences
- Letting yourself have fun
- Learning through play, travel, and curiosity
- Laughing… a lot!
R is for Resilience
Helping girls bounce back, stay grounded, and grow stronger through life’s ups and downs.
Resilience isn’t about never falling—it’s about knowing you can get back up. We teach our girls that mistakes are part of learning, and hard days don’t define them. With community and encouragement, they learn how to handle life with grace and grit.
Resilience looks like:
- Trying again after failing
- Staying hopeful during tough times
- Learning from the “oops” moments
- Knowing tomorrow is a fresh start
R is for Radiance
Letting their light shine, inside and out!
Every girl has a unique spark—and we’re here to celebrate it. Whether it’s through creativity, leadership, kindness, or quiet strength, radiance means embracing who you are and letting that joy shine into the world.
Radiance shines through:
- Confidence and self-love
- Supporting others and sharing joy
- Letting your personality glow
- Walking in your purpose, unapologetically
The STARR in Every Girl
We see Strength, Trust, Adventure, Resilience, and Radiance in every girl who walks through our doors. Sometimes she just needs a little reminder. That’s where God Starr comes in to reflect that light back and help her shine even brighter.
We’re not here to “fix” girls. We’re here to support, uplift, inspire, and celebrate them.
Whether it’s through mentorship, new experiences, or simply being surrounded by love and encouragement—our girls are learning they are capable, courageous, and totally enough.
